Well Crafted Wednesdays #49! {Link Party}

Welcome to another edition of Well Crafted Wednesdays! Sorry I’m a little late in posting this…I’ve been feeling pretty sick for the last day or so and in the interest of fairness, I don’t prepare these posts until the day before so everyone’s links can have the longest exposure time possible. Anyways, I’m feeling a little bit better for the moment so I decided to knock this out while I had the energy!
Here are the features from last week’s party:
DIY Stenciled Fall Welcome Mat
Craft Desk Ruler Trim4

Well Crafted Wednesdays {Features}

I am so excited because this is my 100th post!!! Reaching milestones is so fun and it gives me the motivation to keep going. Not to mention that I love blogging and even though I get busy and miss posting sometimes (Craft War Weekend results that will be posted next Monday because we need more time to finish our projects) I will always love blogging.
This is a place where I can be myself and really do something that I love so thank you to all of you who love to read about my passion and want to join me!
Now let me get down from my soapbox and introduce the features from last weeks party!!
This clever idea for earring storage is such a genius idea from Rena at Jewelry Making Journal! I always have to hunt for pairs of earrings in my drawer and it feels like such a waste of time! This is a great way to keep the earrings together and to make my mornings a little easier!
Amy at While Wearing Heels managed to transform an old goodwill chair into this beautiful beauty! I love it when someone can give new life to an old gem and this is exactly what Amy has done. Thanks for sharing!

Made By Me Monday # 12: Kitchen/Dining Room Chair Redo! {GIVEAWAY!}

Wow it has been a crazy week! The hubs and I are starting a new workout plan tomorrow and I’ve been up all night prepping so if you have questions about the tutorial (which I sort of expect) feel free to ask!
For this project, you will need:
4 chairs (I got mine at Value Village Yay!!)
Sandpaper
White Spray Primer (I used Krylon)
White Spray Paint (Again…Krylon)
Foam for chair pads (measure your chair before you buy these!
Fabric for your charis (I used an outdoor fabric because it is sturdy and fairly easy to clean)
Step 1: Sand your chairs
I first tried to use a chemical stripper…not a good idea! I had to wait for the goop to dry and then sand it off anyways so I might as well have just sanded… Oh! Say hello to my partner in crafting – Murphy! He was a little distracted because Eric was walking over…silly pup!
Step 2: Spray the primer onto chairs
Use your White Spray Primer to spray your chairs. You don’t need to spray the seat because you are just going to cover it. I used one can of primer per chair.
Step 3: Spray the paint onto chairs
Use the White Spray Paint to finish your chairs. Again, you don’t need to spray the seat because you are going to cover it and I also used one can of paint per chair.
Step 4: Cut the foam to fit the seat
Cut your foam chair pads to fit the shape of your seat. I left a little bit of overhang because it just makes the edge of the seat more comfortable.
Step 5: Cut the fabric
Cut your fabric to leave a good overhang on either side. Make sure to account for a 1/4 inch seam.

Step 6: Sew the fabric (optional)
I used my sewing machine to finish the edges of my fabric. This is not necessary…it would still look awesome if you didn’t do this.
Step 7: Staple fabric onto chair
I used a staple gun for this step…and my husband haha! Pull the fabric tight across the foam pad that is sitting on the seat of the chair. Staple each side into place with minimal space between the staples. You want it to be secure so use as many staples as you need.
Done! Now you have the most beautiful chairs around! Can you tell that I love mine? haha
As for the giveaway, You can enter below! There is also a link to the winning project (flower art) below so you can look at what the prize will look like:

Well Crafted Wednesday #11! {Link Party!}

I am a VERY amateur sewer (is that a word?) and I have an interesting question for everyone this week:
When creating clothing items for yourself, do you really NEED a serger or can you make great clothes with just a sewing machine?
I want to start making some cute bags and clothes for myself and I need a little advice 🙂
Anyways, here are the features from last weeks party!
